We were picked up to drive to Dharamsala or better McLeod Gang (the place where the Dalai Lama lives in exil). The driver was going pretty fast before he, half way down, went on tiny roads in the rural areas. i asked him what he was doing and he replied he did not understand (h mentioned before he does not speak English). He mentioned something like he does not have the permission for this road as it's another state. Yeah, that's the strange thing, you think of India as one state, no there are many in India and the even take road taxes from cars of others states. We were exhausted when we finally arrived in McLoed Gang got to our hotel and explored the village.
we were wondering why all these people were on the street - they waited for the Dalai Lama to leave his monastery - so we stopped and waited, too - and we saw him passing by in his car greeting the people - what an experience
